Size-Ranges from 22 to 28 inches
Weight-500 to 1100 grams
Description-Large Black bird with Red Cheek
Patches which indicate their degree of health(Bright red is the best!)
Origin-New Guinea, Vogelkop, Irian, Jaya,
through south-eastern and Western Papuan Islands.
Pet Quality- Not to be kept as a pet as they
are endangered and do not have the same qualities as the white Cockatoo species.
Status-Endangered
A very intelligent bird that uses tools in
the wild to keep other birds away such as making a "DrumStick" and
beating on a hollow log!
